Analyzes the methodological capability of the local civilizations’ concept and civilization-stages approach in comparative jurisprudence. The author's understanding of term "civilization" as planetary movement of mankind to the legal type of culture is given. Concluded that it is possible through legal civilization-stages approach to identify a specific place of any society on the scale of civilized development.
